Take a quick survey and discover what's really holding you back!
Talk to almost anyone with ADD / ADHD and they'll say one of their biggest problems is that they procrastinate. Sure, that's true — we're world class procrastinators when it comes to something we're not interested in, or unmotivated to start. But I learned years ago that more often, there were a lot of other reasons that kept most ADD adults from getting started. And they had nothing to do with attitude or motivation!
People with ADD / ADHD are prone to get stuck, or mentally paralyzed, for a number of different reasons. And they can be very different for different individuals.
You might have Jackson, who can't get started because his brain shuts down from overwhelm, just thinking of all the different projects on his plate.
Jennifer could be stuck because she can't find all the information necessary to start, and doesn't know where to even begin to look in her messy office.
And Sara can't begin her project because she waited so long that she now can't remember some of the crucial steps to include — and she's too ashamed to ask anyone! (Sara's problem actually started with procrastination, but now it's the shame that's holding her back.)

Hi Bonnie
another issue that i ve found that adds to what i put in the survey and what you have written is that there is an increase in social issues in families that put more pressure on the individual adding to the sense of being overwhelmed by all that needs to be done.
sometimes we just want to run away and the distractions … then the work’s not done.

I hear more and more from people who are sandwiched between caring for aging parents and raising their own children. As more people are starting families in their 40’s, there will be more instances of this kind of pressure from being responsible for the generations on either side. Quite overwhelming!
